Morphology, composition and structure of the fibers of a Chimu culture textile

In this work we studied the microfibers of a textile (T-shirt) Chimú culture. This culture developed on northern coast Peru. To determine raw material and structural quality microfibers, results were compared with corresponding for cotton from Peru (native cotton). Scanning electron microscopy images revealed that yarns are composed set interwoven microfibers. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy pulsed laser-induced plasma techniques allowed identification characteristic cellulose atoms in native cotton. Only textile, these spectroscopic to natural dyes powder residues. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared identified same molecular bonds For cotton, diffractograms showed peaks I? polymorphism monoclinic P21 structure.
